DonChef is the name Chicken Pie Kitchen & Don Signature Crab bakes under today. Every pie that leaves the kitchen at 39 Tyrwhitt Road, including the Chicken Shepherd's Pie, is a DonChef pie, made to the original recipe that Don Pie founder and kitchen co-founder Chef Don Lim created in 1983. Is DonChef's Chicken Shepherd's Pie halal?

No pork, no lard, not Halal-certified. The kitchen is not certified by MUIS and does not claim that any of its products are halal; its flagship restaurant admits pet dogs and serves alcohol, which are among the reasons it gives. What allergens are in the Chicken Shepherd's Pie?

Is there a Don pie outlet in Toa Payoh?

No. Chef Don Lim ran stalls in Toa Payoh North for several years, but they have closed. From Toa Payoh, the nearest current outlet is the AMK Hub kiosk, three MRT stops north on the North-South Line, and the flagship at 39 Tyrwhitt Road is a short ride away.

Can I order it for delivery?

Yes. Orders are placed ahead on the official ordering site, buy.chickenpie.sg, and delivered by third-party drivers in a best-effort time window. How long does shepherd's pie keep in the fridge?

The kitchen advises eating its pies within four hours of purchase for the best texture and keeping the Chicken Shepherd's Pie in the fridge for no more than three days. For a home-made pie, cool it and refrigerate it within an hour of baking, and eat it within three days.

Can I freeze shepherd's pie?

A home-made shepherd's pie freezes well for up to three months at -18°C if it is cooled, wrapped and frozen promptly.
