The figures below are a snapshot gathered from sellers' own sites, menus and order forms, checked in early October 2026. Treat them as a guide, not a quote: sellers adjust prices, run promotions and charge differently online, for delivery and for dine-in.
| Format | Typical price | Examples |

What does a family tray cost per serving?
Comparing cost per serving is fairer than comparing sticker prices, because trays differ in size. Divide the tray price by the number of people it is said to feed. A tray listed for four to six gives you a range: the low number is the cost if six people share, the high number if four do.
| Tray | Price | Feeds | Per serving |
|---|---|---|---|
| DonChef's Chicken Shepherd's Pie, whole | $33.80 | 4-6 | $5.63 to $8.45 |
| The Shepherd's Pie, baked tray | $39.90 | 4-6 | $6.65 to $9.98 |
| The Shepherd's Pie, lamb | $49.90 | 4-6 | $8.32 to $12.48 |
On that measure, chicken trays are the cheapest way to feed a group, and lamb costs about half as much again. Party trays from restaurant brands cost more per serving again, which reflects the brand, the presentation and the festive menus they usually appear on. For the wider picture across chicken, beef, apple and sweet pies, see Pie Singapore's price guide.
Why do shepherd's pie prices vary so much?
- The meat. Lamb costs more than beef, and beef more than chicken. Premium cuts, such as the Angus beef tail in Marymount's version, push the price up further.
- Size and depth. "Feeds four to six" is not a standard measure. A deeper tray with more filling under the mash is worth more than a shallow one at the same price.
- Certification and sourcing. Halal-certified kitchens and specialist suppliers carry costs that show up in the price. The Shepherd's Pie, for instance, states on its own shop that it is halal-certified.
- Channel. Dine-in prices may carry service charge and GST. Delivery apps often price higher than a seller's own site.
- Season. Christmas order forms and festive bundles often carry their own prices and delivery terms.

How much is shepherd's pie delivery in Singapore?
Delivery usually adds a flat fee or a distance-based fee unless you pass a free-delivery threshold. Among specialist pie sellers in Singapore, flat fees tend to run from about $15 to $28, and free delivery typically starts somewhere between $150 and $200 per order. A single personal pie is rarely worth delivering on its own from a specialist; for small orders, delivery apps are often the practical route, with their own fees.
| Seller | Delivery fee | Free delivery |
|---|---|---|
| Chicken Pie Kitchen (DonChef) | Based on distance | Above $200 |
| The Shepherd's Pie | Not stated on its shop | Above $150 |
| Marymount Bakehouse | $15 islandwide (+$5 Orchard and CBD) | Above $300 |
| Violet Oon (party trays) | $28 per location | Not offered |

For a party where shepherd's pie is the main dish, budget one family tray per four to five adults. At about $34 to $50 a tray, that works out to roughly $7 to $12 a head before delivery. Our party tray guide has a headcount table.
Is it cheaper to make shepherd's pie at home?
Making shepherd's pie at home is usually cheaper per serving if you count only the ingredients. A chicken version for six needs roughly 700 grams of chicken thigh, a kilogram of potatoes, an onion, a carrot, peas, butter, milk and pantry seasonings, which comes to well under the price of a bought tray at most supermarkets. The trade-off is about 90 minutes of work and the washing up. Our home chicken shepherd's pie recipe gives exact quantities in grams.
Where do these prices come from?
Each figure comes from the seller's own published material, read in early October 2026: the Chicken Pie Kitchen menu dated February 2026, The Shepherd's Pie online shop, Marymount Bakehouse's order page and Violet Oon's 2025 Christmas and party tray order form.
